Rallies of the Past

In 2023, The Riley Motor Club of Victoria celebrated its 65th Year. To honour this occasion a display day and luncheon was held. A club member kindly recorded this YouTube video as a record of the day.

1967 Birdsville Rally

In 1967 a group of intrepid Riley owners ventured inland to Birdsville, in Rileys ranging fom a Sidevalve to an Elf. Even the Support Landrover had a Riley Pathfinder engine. Below is a copy of an article written by former member, Geoff Golding, for the January 1968 Edition of the “Wheels” car magazine. Below this is a link to a YouTube video that Leigh Johnson of S.A. has put up, It is a copy of 16mm film taken by a Channel 9 cameraman who went on the trip. Leigh has edited it, and added a sound track.

2009 Western Australian Rally & the 80th Anniversary of the Antill Light Car Record

The 2009 Western Australian Rally coincided with the 80th Anniversary of Peter Antill’s 1929 Light Car record between Sydney and Fremantle. Grahame Glanville along with several other Riley Nine owners, travelled west for the Rally, and then re-enacted the epic 1929 record run between Fremantle and Sydney.
