2023 Riley Tour of Tasmania Booking Information 4th April 2022
Hello Riley Club Members, Friends and Enthusiasts
Bookings are now open for the 2023 Riley National Rally, a “Riley Tour of Tasmania” hosted by the Riley Motor Club of Victoria. The booking process involves three steps.
- Book your fares on the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry directly with Spirit of Tasmania. This can be done via a website or by telephone. Details attached.
- Book your Accommodation directly with the accommodation venue of your choice. Attached is a list of Accommodation venue in each of the three locations. We have arranged special prices and we are holding a number of rooms at most venues. Details are attached including deposit and cancellation information, if provided by the venue. Due the anticipated size of the group the Launceston Country Club is the only venue that could accommodate all of us, so the group will be split around a number of venues, especially at Swansea.
- Booking your Rally attendance. Booking Form is in a separate document for your ease of return.
Steps 1 and 2, booking the Spirit of Tasmania ferry and the accommodation venues of your choice is your responsibility. Full contact details and the process is detailed in the booking form.
The Spirit of Tasmania has a range of accommodation options and prices, the sooner you book the better. Special rates are the first to be sold out.
Step 3. You will find the Rally Booking Form document as a separate page on this site. Please complete the details on this form and forward the form to RMCV Rally Committee by either:

STEP 1. SPIRIT OF TASMANIA BOOKING INFO
The Rally Itinerary is to sail on Spirit of Tasmania Ferry from the Port of Geelong terminal, on the evening of Tuesday 14th March 2023, and the return leg departing Devonport Ferry terminal on the evening of Friday 24th March 2023. If you wish to sail in either direction on a different date i.e. To Tasmania earlier or return to Geelong later, you are able to make those alternative date bookings via the same process detailed below. Later return dates will be available by mid-late April 2022.
A “Special Event Booking facility” has been set up with Spirit of Tasmania. This can be accessed via a website or by telephoning Spirit of Tasmania on 13 20 10. There are several levels of accommodation available and prices vary. These include: Deluxe Cabin, Two or Four Bed Porthole Cabin, Two or Four Bed Inside Cabins, 2 types of Recliner Chairs

- When booking or amending bookings via this web page, Rally attendees will have access to the best available fares on their chosen sailing dates. Please keep in mind fares do fluctuate and are subject to change until payment has been made and a booking number and e-ticket provided
- All passenger, accommodation and vehicle space are subject to availability at time of booking or amending.
- As an alternative to website bookings, availability and bookings can be requested via the Customer Contact Centre by phoning 13 20 10. NOTE: Booking and amendment fees do apply to non-internet bookings. This is a $10 booking fee and $50 amendment fee.
- Bookings for Our Rally event are valid for travel between 14/2/2023 to the 14/04/2023.
- Limited car/passenger space have been protected for our sailing dates of: Geelong to Devonport on 14/03/2023 – 7.30 pm departures Devonport to Geelong on 24/03/2023 –9.10 pm departures
- Protected space for vehicles is based on vehicles under 2.1m in height.
- Protected space for accommodation is based on Twin Porthole and Twin Inside cabins – alternative accommodation styles & vehicle dimensions will be subject to availability at time of booking.

STEP 2. ACCOMODATION BOOKING INFO
We are spending 4 nights at Hobart, 2 nights at Swansea and 3 nights at Launceston. The recommended accommodation includes Hotels/Motels, Apartments and Tourist Park Cabins with self-catering facilities. Most Venues are holding rooms until 31 May 2022. Please check any notes relevant to each venue. Most venue have good photos of rooms on their website.

NOTE:
- We anticipant receiving a Touring GRANT from Events Tasmania. This Grant will be used to provide Free activities including: the BBQ dinner at the Tasmanian Vintage Car Club Rooms, Entry and Morning Tea at Entally House and some other items during our stay in Tasmania.
Please note although these activities are at no cost to you, we still require to know the number of people attending for entry and catering purposes. - RACT will provide matching coverage to your club membership in your home state. ( e.g., RACV, RACQ, etc)
- All interstate Historic / Special Interest Vehicle registration / Permit schemes are recognized by the Tasmania Authorities.
- National Trust Properties. There are 5 fee charging properties you may want to visit (Hobart x2, Launceston x 2 & Devonport x1). Your interstate National Trust Membership will be recognised in Tasmania.
If you are not a member, taking out membership is worthwhile for a couple, if visiting 4 or more properties, but not worthwhile for singles unless you will used it at other times in other states. Allow minimum of 6weeks for receipt of membership cards before leaving for the Rally. Note: Household membership is comparable in most states, but expensive in Qld. (Queenslanders may want to take out membership in another state). - National Parks. There are 2 National Parks you may want to visit; Mt Field (Northwest of Hobart) and Freycinet (North of Swansea). Daily entry pass per vehicle(up to 8 people) is $40.00 or $20 per person.
An Annual Vehicle Park Pass gives access to all parks; for Senior’s card holder it is $36, Concession card holders $72 and General pass $90. A two-month Holiday Pass is $80. Annual & Holiday Passes admit one vehicle with up to 8 people. Passes can be purchased on the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry or on line at https://passes.parks.tas.gov.au/
